The Emergency Care Association of South Africa was established by a group of independent emergency care service providers who share a commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety.

The Association is an unincorporated, non-profit collaborative body. It does not provide healthcare services itself, employ clinicians, or make decisions on behalf of its Members. Each Member practice remains fully and independently responsible for its own patients, staff, and operations.

Our Purpose EC24 exists to promote the quality, safety, consistency, and development of emergency healthcare services across South Africa, through collaboration in areas such as:

Clinical quality improvement

Non-binding clinical protocols and operating recommendations

Triage standards and clinical pathways

Staffing competencies and resuscitation standards

Continuing professional development and training

Research, benchmarking, and evidence-based practice

Emergency preparedness and innovation

Advocacy for appropriate healthcare standards

Leadership EC24 is governed collectively by its Members, led by an elected President and Vice-President who represent the Association and chair its activities.
